Psalm 62, Chant C
Psalm 62 Nonne Deo?
1 For God alone my soul in si-lence waits ; *
from him comes my sal-va-tion.
2 He alone is my rock and my sal-va-tion, *
my stronghold, so that I shall not be great-ly sha-ken.
3 How long will you assail me to crush me, all of you to-ge-ther, *
as if you were a leaning fence, a top-pling wall?
4 They seek only to bring me down from my place of ho-nor; *
lies are their chief de-light.
5 They bless with their lips , *
but in their hearts they curse.
6 For God alone my soul in si-lence waits; *
truly, my hope is in him.
7 He alone is my rock and my sal-va-tion, *
my stronghold, so that I shall not be sha-ken.
8 In God is my safety and my ho-nor; *
God is my strong rock and my re-fuge.
9 Put your trust in him al-ways, O peo-ple, *
pour out your hearts before him, for God is our re-fuge.
10 Those of high degree are but a fleet-ing breath, *
even those of low estate can-not be trus-ted.
11 On the scales they are lighter than a breath, *
all of them to-ge-ther.
12 Put no trust in extortion; in robbery take no emp-ty pride; *
though wealth increase, set not your heart up-on it.
13 God has spoken once, twice have I heard it, *
that power be-longs to God.
14 Steadfast love is yours, O Lord, *
for you repay everyone according to his deeds.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Ho-ly Spir-it: *
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ev-er. A-men.
