Psalm 122, Chant E

 

Psalm 122     Laetatus sum

1 I was glad when they said to me, *
“Let us go to the house of the LORD.”

2 Now our feet are stand-ing *
within your gates, O Je-ru-salem.

3 Jerusalem is built as a ci-ty *
that is at unity with it-self;

4 To which the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, *
the assembly of Israel, to praise the Name of the LORD.

5 For there are the thrones of judg-ment, *
the thrones of the house of Da-vid.

6 Pray for the peace of Je-ru-salem: *
“May they prosper who love you.

7 Peace be within your walls *
and quietness within your tow-ers.

8 For my brethren and compan-ions’ sake, *
I pray for your pros-per-ity.

9 Because of the house of the LORD our God, *
I will seek to do you good.”

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Ho-ly Spir-it: *
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. A-men.
