Psalm 105:1-22, Chant C

Chant C

Psalm 105:1-22     Confitemini Domino

1 Give thanks to the LORD and call up-on his Name; *
make known his deeds a-mong the peo-ples.

2 Sing to him, sing prai-ses to him, *
and speak of all his mar-velous works.

3 Glory in his ho-ly Name; *
let the hearts of those who seek the LORD re-joice.

4 Search for the LORD and his strength; *
continually seek his face.

Chant C

5 Remember the marvels he has done, *
his wonders and the judgments of his mouth,

6 O offspring of Abra-ham his ser-vant, *
O children of Ja-cob his cho-sen.

7 He is the LORD our God; *
his judgments prevail in all the world.

8 He has always been mindful of his co-venant, *
the promise he made for a thousand ge-ner-a-tions:

Chant C

9 The covenant he made with A-braham, *
the oath that he swore to I-saac,

10 Which he established as a sta-tute for Ja-cob, *
an everlasting coven-ant for Is-rael,

11 Saying, “To you will I give the land of Ca-naan *
to be your allot-ted in-her-itance.”

12 When they were few in num-ber, *
of little account, and sojourners in the land,

Chant C

13 Wandering from na-tion to na-tion *
and from one kingdom to a-no-ther,

14 He let no one op-press them *
and rebuked kings for their sake,

15 Saying, “Do not touch my a-noin-ted *
and do my pro-phets no harm.”

16 Then he called for a famine in the land *
and destroyed the sup-ply of bread.

Chant C

17 He sent a man be-fore them, *
Joseph, who was sold as a slave.

18 They bruised his feet in fet-ters; *
his neck they put in an iron col-lar.

19 Until his prediction came to pass, *
the word of the LORD test-ed him.

20 The king sent and re-leased him; *
the ruler of the peoples set him free.

Chant C

21 He set him as a master o-ver his house-hold, *
as a ruler over all his pos-ses-sions,

22 To instruct his princes according to his will *
and to teach his el-ders wis-dom.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Ho-ly Spir-it: *
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ev-er. A-men.
