Psalm 8, Chant C
Psalm 8 Domine, Dominus noster
1 O LORD our Go-vernor, *
how exalted is your Name in all the world!
2 Out of the mouths of in-fants and chil-dren *
your majesty is praised a-bove the hea-vens.
3 You have set up a stronghold against your ad-ver-sar-ies, *
to quell the enemy and the a-ven-ger.
4 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fin-gers, *
the moon and the stars you have set in their cour-ses,
5 What is man that you should be mind-ful of him? *
the son of man that you should seek him out?
6 You have made him but little lower than the an-gels; *
you adorn him with glo-ry and ho-nor;
7 You give him mastery over the works of your hands; *
you put all things un-der his feet:
8 All sheep and ox-en, *
even the wild beasts of the field,
9 The birds of the air, the fish of the sea, *
and whatsoever walks in the paths of the sea.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Ho-ly Spir-it: *
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ev-er. A-men.
